Summary

Game Crashing after Specialized Industry Placement

Steps to reproduce

I was going to place a vegetable farm on an island. Though it is a map mod, it had never crashed the previous plays nor when I had placed 2 other industries previously. Right when I had the asset positioned, I clicked to place and immediately the game closed out. This has happened in a different city previously on another mod map that was up to date. That previous map had been played on for at least 3 weeks a couple times a week. I find it very interesting why the game would crash after placing a specialized industry.

Expected Result

The farm is placed and the game functions normally

Actual Result

The game completely crashed, and after checking in-game save files and through the desktop I haven't found the save game. It also deleted all autosaves leaving only a manual save from the day before. However, there IS a slim chance of a mod crashing, though I know I don't have any mods that were enabled that were still operating in the background

Game Version

1.2.3

This appears to be a mod-related crash triggered specifically by placing specialized industry assets. Even if the map and mods worked previously, conflicts can occur after updates or certain asset placements. The fact that autosaves were deleted suggests a deeper instability, likely linked to one or more of the mods affecting asset placement or terrain (e.g., Anarchy, Move It, or Extra Landscaping Tools). Try disabling mods one by one or testing the asset on a vanilla map. Also, back up saves manually to avoid data loss from similar crashes.
