Summary

Game crashing on specific dates around 1690-1700

Description

So, this is my 3rd playthrough in a row (i believe all 3 were after the last update) that this happens, only that this time around the problem persists.

The game just randomly crashes at a specific date. I tried saving the game, exiting, and then continuing, in various forms, but to no avail. Sometimes, I can "delay" the bug by pressing spacebar incessantly (going day-by-day), however at some point, it will crash at another close date.

The same thing happened during my Ming, and Florence>Italy games. Somehow, i fixed the Ming issue by going day-by-day (managed to play normally onward), but this time around it seems i can't do anything to fix it. Could it be that the problem is caused by having 80 members in HRE? Somewhere I've read that the messaging options can be a problem, but I am really not getting spamed by the vassals because i accepted most of their requests, so I don't see how. My goal is to get 100 members.

Steps to reproduce

Just continue playing, it should crash on February 10.

Game Version

v1.36.1.0 Byzantium

Just reported the same behavior. CTD no matter what I do.
I did find that IF you can get your game to pause on the day it crashes, if you reload the save it will move on for a while, but again, it will crash at another random, relatively close date. I did this a couple of times, but when i continued, the game crashed at different dates, but with only a few days of difference.

Theoretically, this way you could maybe see the whole game through.. But who wants to turn the game on 50 times to progress 5 months ingame?

Yes, noticed the exact same thing. I dialed down to speed 1 and saved every day. There seems to be certain trigger date ranges, which caused the game to CTD.

UPDATE
In the save, the game usually crashed on feb 8-9 when the game speed was set to 3+, and at feb 10 when i tried pausing through every day.

Just moments ago, i managed to somehow pause it at feb 10 on speed 1, saved, exited, and now i am at March, without any issues, but I am still afraid to increase game speed. At speed 5, i cannot pass a single game day, it immediately crashes.

It feels as if the problem is in having so many vassals (around million troops overall), from my layman's point of view. I have 16GB RAM, and GTX 1060 3GB, so memory shouldn't be an issue.

I posted what seems to be the same issue. Instant CTD when I try to load the save on the crash date. Byzantium just wasn't meant to last :((
