Whenever I get relatively far into a game (say after 200-300 game years) the game continues to crash after a certain point. There’s not specific action that seems tot rigger it - I can be in a planet window, the research options window, the overall game map, etc.

The only commonality is that my empire is pretty well developed. It happens in every game I start after a certain period of time. I have every DLC installed, though this started happening before I even bought my first DLC. I have an XBOX One for reference.

I’m guessing this has to do with some processing issue. However, I wouldn’t think an XBOX One would be a console that is able to support a Stellaris mid to late game.

Common issue, the old consoles don’t have good enough CPUs to do all of the calculations required late game

there are ways to help mitigate the problem, but nothing that will fix it entirely [short of either getting a series x and waiting for general updates that will help some of the issues]

tweak your galaxy settings - play on a smaller sized galaxy than you normally do, reduce the amount of empires you play with by 2-4 [this includes ai empires, fallen empires, and marauders], keep habitable worlds and pre-ftl civilizations on x1-x2, don't colonize every world you can get ahold of [choose what worlds you colonize more carefully], be willing to use colossus during war on enemy ai worlds [this means you dont have to land an army, or take the time to try and fix the world]

The next update to 2.6.3 next Thursday should help. I read all patchnotes from pc and they mention a lot of performance improvements. They changed some things how ticks work etc which should help on consoles. But I assume old saves are not compatible or may have other issues. So starting a new game would be the best. I hope this fixes the problems with crashes.

oh yeah old saves won't work right due to origins, the gc, bureaucrat changes, etc

so players that have older saves either need to finish them off or sacrifice them to the void
