Well, I have this annoying problem when playing EU. It crashes frequently. I can play 5 min. at max and then the game just throws me out without an error message. It would be nice to play the game at least few months before it crashes, but currently it's impossible. And yes I have 1.10 UK patch. Also any of the game movies don't run so for example I can't see the intro. And yes I have tried reinstalling the game several times. I've tried changing the cache to 470k and tryuing to play at 800*600 resolution, but it won't help.

My computer:

550 Mhz Pentium III
256 Mb Ram
52*Cd-Rom
Win 98

Oh Jylha,

You do have the UK version of the game to go with the UK patch right?, both version have to match. - you're shown as located in Finland so I wasn't sure?.

Cheers, Ice:cool:

I believe it's the UK version. My game is distributed by Koch media

Yes I have and I tried to uninstall it again and then reinstalling it. Wow, I almoust could start the game ,but it crashed again.
Tips would help since I really love the game and would like to play it :( So far my record is june on first year of the grand campaign before the game crashes ;)

OK a couple more suggestions that I know have worked for others:

1. Defrag your drive
2. Make sure that you have the latest driver for your video card - this is also important if you have installed DirectX for the first time.
3. Don't run anyother programs in the background (like virus-checkers, desktop stuff).
4. Disable other applications (Ctrl/Alt/Del) - down to Explorer and Systray running.
5. Run EU on slow time settings - under options, this will slow down the tasks put on your system and graphics card. (this one may be your issue if your system is on the edge), but the above should make things better.

Let me know if any of this helps.

Cheers, Ice:cool:

Thanx, I give it a try :D

Also try starting it with the No Music startup icon. If that helps you may have a problem with your sound card or directx drivers.

Yes, no I have done everything. And still a can play about 5 minutes before game crashes. Really annoying. Also I wonder why the game won't even show any movies like intro. Weird. :(

So now I'm helples. I don't have a clue what's wrong. My friends have had similar problems, but atleast they could play the darn game. I think I just have to return this game back where I bought it.

If you can't even play the movies you have some fundamental problem with your system. Last guy had that, turned out he couldn't play .avi files at all, so the game had no chance. He had to reinstall Windows to get it working. Concentrate on getting .avi files working.

Strange, my other .avi files are working just fine. (just tested) For some reason the .avi files from the EU cd just won't run.:(

There is a folder avi, with euintro.avi and paradox.avi. Maybe you could replace those 2 avi's with other (small) ones, by renaming the old ones and copy & rename some small avi's to that folder.
