The game was running fine until yesterday but ever since then, it crashes. When I'm playing the game a few minutes in it freezes and the screen turns black after a few seconds I hear the sound continues but my screen won't find my pc until I restart my pc. I have already updated my windows and Nvidia driver turned of avast added to firewall etc but nothing fixed it. Its also hard to pinpoint seeing as I doesn't really crash so I don't get a crash report

It still seems like the GPU is throiwng errors on you

Can you try a few things

1) From the launcher try windowed mode
2) then try a standard resolution like 1080p fullscreen (trying ot see if your widescreen resolution is cuaisng ithe issue)

Hi thanks for the quick reply I have already tried both it still crashed. But the game is working after an entire registry wipe and all files on my pc. It seems there goes something from withing the games files wich is causing this problem for people

This exact problem. Can't even set up a game properly these days. Screen blacks out (even my second monitor) graphics card fans go into overdrive and need to re-boot. The game is totally unplayable at the moment.
Have updated all Windows files, verified game files, disabled GeForce Experience, set game to windowed mode, tried on different resolution, set game to run as administrator, disabled AV when playing.

Let me know if I've missed trying anything.

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

If you turn on in-game display of fps in Steam do you find that the game is running at a really high rate? Because there may be a bug where the fps setting in the game is not respected.

If you do see that, try capping the game's fps with GeForce Experience.

Let us know what you see!

Great thank you, played for nearly 2 hours and no crash! I'm counting that as a resolution. Many thanks again :)
