I had similar issue and after much digging I found it was corrupted config files and also corrupted game files. I used Skyve to delete the corrupt config files, and I used Steam's "Verify Game Files" thing to fix the damaged game files. Dunno if those things will help you, but maybe worth a try.

If there are corrupt config files, Skyve will list them (if it detects them) in a panel on the right hand side of its dashboard when you launch Skyve.

Thx for all. I appreciate your help. Surprisingly the game launchs and starts after the forth or fifth time of reinstalling. Save games are lost but that does not matter at all.
