Game doesn't load after any patch upgrade

Hi there,

I've had EU2 for quite a while now but had stopped playing for several months. I reinstalled it yesterday and upgraded it with patch 1.05 and it didn't load. I got a Windows message saying there was an error and that Windows closed the game. So I uninstalled the game without the patch, and it worked fine. Then I installed previous patches (1.02, 1.04), and the same problem occurred again. I had to reinstall it everytime to get it running. Do you have any idea what might be causing this? (it's not a binkplayer pb since I always rename the AVI folder).

My system

Portable Sony VAIO Celeron 950mhz
256MO RAM
4MO video card (I know..but hey, it's a portable..)
Windows XP Family Edition

Why, is there an incorrect version of the patches??
I've downloaded the patches from Paradoxplaza and it was yesterday, so I guess they must be the correct ones.

do you downlaod the patch that match your game ie

North AMerican --> Strategy First

Yes I downloaded the NA patch, and I have the NA version. Any other idea? Playing the game unpatched is not so fun...

re-apply, re-patch and it should work.
