Basically the title. I am really dying to get this save file to work if anyone has any ideas. I have tried checking incompatible versions, verifying files, running it directly and as admin, and I am using the same version with no additional mods or DLCs. My guess is that the file is corrupted and nothing can be done, but I was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas before I gave up on it. The file is attached if that helps. Thanks.

The last 20% of your file are NULL-Bytes which makes eu4 unable to even recognize the file. This occasionally happens, but I don't really know why. Do you maybe have a _Backup file which still works?
I tried to recover something from your file and I attached it(Japan1669_12_31.eu4). The date is probably wrong(you can try to use the "date" console command to fix it) and it is not ironman anymore and there are at least some broken countries(and probably more lost information) and if you don't have all DLCs, me loading it with all DLCs probably broke some more(you can try JAPAJ_fix_gamestate.eu4 in which you certainly have to use the date command before doing anything. But it was not loaded by me, so it has no wrong DLC stuff). So it probably needs a lot of manual work if you would really want to continue playing it.

For the future I would recommend that you create additional backup saves so that you have something which you can go back in case something breaks.

Disclaimer: I'm not working for Paradox. I'm just trying to help people.
