Game freezes a few times each year

Having a blast through the game but it freezes for a few seconds each year. I think it happens every three months. Is this because I'm on ironman and game saves itself or something else? Game is running pretty fast but these freezes are annoying

I am seeing reports of this with Ironman only, yes. My guess is it's to do with the forced saves. Not sure yet if it affects bout cloud and local saves though.
