What version and checksum show on the main game menu? Do you have the game from Steam or GG?

please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity), settings.txt, system.log and error.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload).

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then post the first part of that file here.

The other files are under your MyDocuments folder, you'll see a CK2 directory, and under that again /logs/ .

I actually don't see any of your files attached here ... ? Failing all else you can just paste the contents of each of those files into a post here.

Had the same issue, Steam right? Got to your game library, right click Crusader Kings, properties, Local Files and run the "Verify integrity of local cache" or whatever it is

Fixed the issue for me

I think your lagging is due to system memory. You have 3gb of which 1.3gb is used by your video card, so only 1.7gb left for Vista and the game.
Memory: 3070MB RAM
Page File: 2814MB used, 3540MB available

Display Memory: 2285 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1007 MB
Shared Memory: 1278 MB
Vista is paging your system out to file, so you are desperately short of RAM. As a start make sure you kill ALL other programs before you start the game.

You could try simplifying the graphics; edit that settings.txt file and make draw_trees=no .

You may as well update your video driver too:

Twice, but nothing new happened.
When you uninstalled from Steam, you should manually delete anything CK2-related left under the Steam directory, and also under your MyDocuments folder, before you reinstall.
