Game freezes when activating army.

I have had this problem before: sometimes when I want to select an army, the game freezes. No BTD, only unable to do anything. Only hard-reset gets me back.

As I have not seen this problem reported here anywhere, I suspect that it is a problem with my computer (and what CK does with it - I don´t have any other problems)

The computer is an Athlon 1,3Mhz, GeForce2Ti, newest NVidia Drivers.


Now that I have installed the 17.10. Beta, this problem has multiplied. It is impossible to play a new game, because CK gets stuck all the time.

Does anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

I just crusaded few hours and had no troubles, must be something with your system ---> moved to Castellon.

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.

AVI folder is renamed. Colour set to 16bit, and everything removed that is not needed. (Can soundcontrol remain? How would I remove it?)

Still these random freezes remain.
Problem: I cannot reproduce them. If the game works once, it works fine without problem. If it doesn´t, it freezes with the first activation of an army.

Don't know what volume control you are talking about. I guess some make work eye candy program your sound card installed.
Yes get rid of it, it is needlessly taking up system resources.
Selct the properties and there should be an option to close it down.
Personally I would remove it.
Also make sure any Virus protection programs are completely off.

If none of that works, try a fresh install followed by the latest patch. Then all the things recommended so far, again.
