Everytime I attempted to load a save or start a new caimpaign my PC freezes up. I have to hit Ctrl-alt-del to get out. Samething with EU III. Can no longer play either. Most likely will not purchase another Paradox game if issue is not resloved...what would be the point if they all crash immediately.

lordtrout: Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista to a non-system directory, like c:\users\[name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\. You may have to search your C: drive for them.

Actually, I have corrected it. I eventually realized that it happened when I had my MP3 player connected to my computer. Not sure why this happens, but now that I've unplugged it things work fine...however the music is slightly distorted sounding now.
