Think that's all you requested from the sticky.
Well, I just recently purchased this game and the DV expansion. After installing everything, adding all the patches, I managed to play the game for about 15 - 20 minutes before the game froze. Alright, so, did a forced shut down, and tried opening it again. Started the game again, and it crashes again, only on the scenario loading screen. I have been fighting this all day, and can usually manage to get to the single-player mode UI. Sometimes, I can go in and play a few minutes of the game, sometimes it freezes on the loading process.
What I've tried doing: Forcing it to run in compatibility mode of XP (SP2), even uninstalled and reinstalled from a fresh download from Gamers Gate. There are no modifiable options via the game I could see to try and mess with, and have gone so far to move the game's home folder from under the Program Files to a new folder (games) directly under the root directory of my hard drive. All to the same result of being able to start loading a game.
One thing to note: Right when the game starts freezing, the sound first starts jumbling into a quick-repeating static, then cuts out completely. Cursor freezes right before this happens.
I ask for assistance, and some guidance. My machine more than qualifies to be able to play it (based on the requirement specs in the manual), but I have read that Vista did not produce these kinds of results for anyone else.
Thank you, before hand, for any assistance that I could get.
