Game froze and now it won't launch

A few weeks ago I was having an issue where my game would randomly freeze on iron man mode (even after going through all recommended fixes).

A couple days ago I reinstalled and started a new game by opening the .exe since my Paradox Launcher hasn't worked in weeks. I played fine for a few sessions and today the game randomly froze. Now I'm unable to even launch the game, even when trying to do it straight from the .exe.

I have tried everything at this point like uninstall/reinstall, make sure drivers are updated, anti-virus settings, turn off cloud saves, etc. Nothing is working.

It looks like it starts up through the .exe (launcher still doesn’t work). I did lose my save game though unfortunately.

Hmm my launcher has not had any issues.

I've documented my problems and findings, and my next thought is this response which mentions unplugging their keyboard. My hypothesis since a reboot fixes it, but logging out does not, is that something might, somehow become weird with keyboard/mouse drivers, so maybe unplugging them and replugging them, potentially in other ports, might be worth attempting the next time you get this issue.

This is obviously still a workaround for when the freezing is already happening, not preventing it to happen in the first place. The Master List of Fixes for Crusader Kings 3 - by Satoru also mentions unplugging USB devices, so might be worth unplugging any controller's or other USB devices the next time you play.

Started up a new campaign since my old one was deleted. Also not going to go iron man mode.

When I was having the issue before and started a new campaign it worked for a while then randomly started crashing.

Will report back if/when it fails again..

It stopped responding for me right now and I unplugged my keyboard and put it back in and it unfroze!
