It twitches seriously at fast speed when scrolling the map or doing any other stuff, which forces me to pause game to do most important stuff (so I don't make mistake by accident). This is really annoying, since I have decent system:

1.4ghz pentium
512kb RAM
giga of free space on Windows partition
ATI Radeon 9200
DirectX 9.1
Soundblaster Audigy Platinum

I mean, if I can play 3D game like Hitman 2 without twitches & same applies to Medieval: TW with it's thousands of sprites, why every paradox game does this to me?

Because Paradox games are much more demanding for the computer, perhaps? A 3D game seldom has thousands of characters (like CK does) in 1000 locations (like CK does) checked all the time for hundreds of events each (like CK does). There are millions of things going on in CK all the time :)

First 3D games are only one way of streching your graphics adapter, not really your whole system. While it may not seem like it Paradox games do. Pdox games load HUGE bitmap files and lots of data to track and hundreds of nations and AIs to track it for.

Having said that, I would suggest taking a look through jpds support FAQ on the subject. It can be found here.

i have some annoying mouse lag so i checked through that FAQ. however, i have 1gig of ram and i dont think it's a file swapping problem slowing me down. my specs are 1.6 processor, 128mb geforce 5200 fx, w/ 1gig of ddr ram. it CK starts giving me a bit of lag after i choose my country from the menu before i load save.

yes... I've checked that post Chetznez suggested. However, it can't be processor power or memory I'm lacking. Only thing could be my DX9, but that doesn't click. If my comp is allmost over double what recommended specs say, it can't be hardware problem.
AND the package says "DirectX 8.1 or newer". So it can't be DX.

Please lets keep one thread for each persons problem, that way it is easier for me to track and the thread does not get all confussed with all the system specs of each person.
So please open your own thread and I will be happy to help.

The system specs on the box are for Ver 1.00
The current patch level suggests 9.0B or later Dx.

Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.

And I assume you have done the basics:
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
