Hello,

I am having issues playing the game currently after coming back to it. I am showing unfolded Black Boxes in place of ships and it crashes the game when trying to play. Please see images for the issue. I am running 0 mods just the base game + 2 DLC's Necroids and Plantoids. I have attempted Re-installs with deleting all folders, i have attempted verification of files through steam and it shows 100% done. Please help!

Update to Situtation:

I installed Stellaris through the launcher instead of through steam and the game appears to work. The issue now is that im showing 1 DLC only in the launcher which is the Necroids Pack (shown below)

The steam version of the game shows the correct DLC's that I bought (picture below)

It appears to be an issue between paradox and steam linked accounts. Any advice?

For your Steam problem: Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new galaxy - NOT by loading any existing one

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Hello,

Steam has discovered the issue I am having. For some reason my paradox account is not recognizing the steam purchases of multiple DLC's

My Paradox Account is only showing me having the Necroids Pack and not any of the others. Is there anyway i can have the 3 other packs shown in the screen shot added to my Paradox account that i linked to steam?

Regards,

From that screenshot the DLCs are not installed. What happens if you tick those boxes?

I took another screen grab to show the DLC's on my Steam account. The screen shots from the black box issue the DLC's were installed. I tried multiple different iterations of installing the game with different DLC's installed in all of them the black box issue showed. Installing the game through the paradox client itself the game loaded fine with no issues. When i checked the DLC's through the paradox client it only shows my account having Necroid Pack. The fix for this issue is if you add the 3 packs that are missing from my Paradox Account.

Steam has said from their support this is a complete Paradox issue and they will not be helping any further so you are my last hope...... :(

Regards,

Now Steam knows to install them you could try running a Steam Verify operation against the game.

If that does not find anything to fix, then go the clean reinstall from post #3 above again please.

Good luck!

Ok listen here, I don't know if your trying to be an unhelpful prick pretending you cant read or you read what I typed before and just trying to be an asshole. I will reiterate 1 last time so read this time.

I fully installed the game on steam WITH ALL THE CHECK MARKED DLC's the game didn't work. I ran all the typical steam BS such as verification and it didn't work still. I then installed the game with different iterations of DLC's checked off still did not work. I then decided to not install the game through steam and install it through the Paradox Launcher. The game worked however it only shows me owning 1 DLC Pack which is the Necroid Pack. I contacted Steam they said they couldn't do anything about it and I needed to contact you guys. NOW what I need you to do for the last fricken time is explain why the paradox account is not pulling the information from the steam account properly AND IF YOU CANT DO THAT. Add the missing DLC's from the steam account to the Paradox account.

IS THIS CLEAR or do I need to figure someway to dumb this down even more for you?

I don't respond to rude and insulting posts like that.

Perhaps someone else will agree to help you regardless.

That's rich, I have told you 3 times what the issue is, and 3 times you ignored what I typed to the point that you looked at a picture assumed i don't know how to install things and used a condescending tone telling me "now steam knows what to install". So don't be taking some moral high road here when you are a terrible support tech. Next time listen to what people are typing you and hold the condescending tones. Don't bother trying to change it either cause I have screenshot your messages.
