Hello everyone, its been some time since i last played this awesome game so i decided to play it today, game has been crashing randomly for 8 times now, the error log always shows this:

[00:42:02][assetfactory_audio.cpp:893]: No sound scripted for soundoverride 'advisor_notification_ships_upgraded_03'
[00:42:02][pdx_audio.cpp:453]: Missing sound: advisor_notification_ships_upgraded_03

This was the error before i tried verifying game files and i even just re-installed.

After the re-installation game crashed again, not only did the previous pasted log showed up but it now also contains this:

[00:45:05][empire_design.cpp:844]: Failed to migrate government type [gov_despotic_empire] to authority for empire design. Mods?
[00:45:26][empire_design.cpp:844]: Failed to migrate government type [gov_fallback] to authority for empire design. Mods?

It is importatnt to note that i have no current downloaded nor installed mods, as i said i just reinstalled the game, i tried to delete all stellaris related stuff on my computer but i had no succes.

I hope someone could help me with this, really looking forward to play it again.

EDIT: re installed game for 2nd time, this time i deleted both documents/paradox/stellaris AND steamapps/common/stellaris, the error log shows as follows:

[01:40:29][assetfactory_audio.cpp:893]: No sound scripted for soundoverride 'advisor_notification_ships_upgraded_03'
[01:40:29][pdx_audio.cpp:453]: Missing sound: advisor_notification_ships_upgraded_03

Same as before, im done for tonight, is this actually bug related?

These are cosmetic and nothing to do with your crashing problem, everyone gets them.

I'm not clear - is it still crashing after your clean reinstall?

If not I can only assume there was an old or bad entry in your user_empire_designs.txt file.

Yep it kept crashing even atfer a second reinstall, after that i tried a roll-back version through steam on properties, ive been playing on version 3.0.4 and i havent experienced a crash after 10 in game years so far, i think i can confirm this is related to the newest version. Is that possible?

Well, we'd know by now if it had such a bad bug that it was doing this on everyone's machines all the time! If it is a game bug it seems to be only triggered on your machine in some way.

Definitely no mods in use here, is that right?

After one of these crashes can you run the game right away and load the latest save file and carry on? Or do you need to reboot, or wait a while before the game will run again? Does that save crash in the same place or elsewhere?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log

No mods installed, after the crashes game starts normally and i can indeed load the latest save files, i thought it could be related to the empire designs but even with the default ones i was experiencing the crashes.

It is important to note that i am not currently playing with a gpu, just the integrated graphics of my processor, maybe my system cant handle some of the new features?

Ive been playing on version 3.0.4 all day as i previously said and i havent experienced any crashes nor related performance issues so far. Here you have the dxdiag along with the settings and system log :)

Thanks for the attention tho!

No solid clues in there, but we see some LiveKernelEvents in that dxdiag. These happen when the machine is forced down or reboots itself. Are you seeing those? If so are they related to this game or something else?

Exit the Steam all and run stellaris.exe directly from File Explorer. Do you see any Windows error when it fails then?

Now that you mention it, when the live build crashes, not only does the app stop responding but the pc itself, image on both my 2 monitors frezze for a few seconds and then they "shut down", i dont know how to put this onto english words properly since it isnt my main language, but its like if the entire pc "rebooted" in some way, it does not lliterally restart, but as i said it "shuts down" or "reboots" like if it refreshes, image on both monitors returns after another few seconds, only then i can acces the task manager in order to close the game, since it stays in "no responding".

This is the complete timeline of events that happens everytime the game crashes, in the exact same order, this does not happen with other apps/games, and neither does it happen with other versions of the game. I already tried multiple rollback versions of steam and thsi only happens on the latest version, do you think theres some new feature which my pc isnt being able to handle? any kind of compatibility issue with my dirivers?

About starting game directly form the file explorer, its the same thing, game starts as normal but crashes every few in game years.

So the crash is while playing, not on game start?

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Sorry about the delay, as i said i have no gpu so i can only give you the cpu temperatures.

Cpu stays at around 30-40 degrees before playing and goes up to 48 degrees after 10 mins of playing, this is while playing version 3.0.4 and same for 3.1 and above exept i cant measure temperature for too long on 3.1 and above because these versions crash my game, at this point i have tried everything that comes to my mind, and by that i mean:

Disabling fullscreen optimizations
Clean Reinstall for 2 times now, deleting both paradox and steam files
Running game as Admin
Running the game in both windows 7 and 8 compatibility mode
Running the game on Fullscreen, Windowed, Borderless.
Verifiying game files

As i said i have absolutely no trouble running versions below 3.1, perhaps my system cant hande new features, i have no clue at all but i cant find any other explanation.

For now the only thing that i have not tried is doing a clean reinstall of steam, ill try that, for now i dont know what else to do :s

How long does the game run under 3.1 before crashing? At all?

Let's test DirectX. In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. Click on Set Launch Options, and paste this in there:
-opengl

That will be slower, but if it makes the game more stable or at least prevents the hardware crashing, that will be informative!
