I regularily play multiplayer across two computers, one running windows XP home and the other windows XP professional (which is normally the host). I own the US version of the game. When playing multiplayer I mainly encounter the following errors, which occurs on both computers:

1. The game randomly crashes, on either computer, even when nothing intensive is happening in the game. It normally does this at the least once an hour.

2. When loading a multiplayer LAN save game, a random error would appear where I would be asked to either Abort, Retry or Ignore.

I am running the latest patch.

I am very surprised that you have released a game that is so buggy without proper testing. I have also noticed that people who created the game haven't been posting when others have been asking similar questions to this. If Microsoft had released a game as buggy as this, they would get a great deal of criticism. I think you really need to think about a patch very quickly which solves these problems, or you will lose your loyal fan base of those who buy all of these games you have released such as myself.

Are there any solutions to these problems currently?

First let me say I do not know what you are talking about regarding the developers.
Paradox does not have an equal when it comes to developers supporting thier product.
EU2 just had a new patch and it is almost three years old!

Second Microsoft is a very very poor example to use. Almost everything they put out is riddled with bugs and security loop holes. ;)
I do not follow the MP forum but I certainly have not see many people complain in this forum about MP problems.

As for your problem, do you have it is single player or just MP. I will assume that since you did not mention SP and specifically did mention MP that it is MP only that this problem occurs in. Therfore I will move you to the MP forum, and let the experts like KurtBrian help you.

If you do not recieve help within a few days please feel free to private message me and let me know. I will investigate and try and help.

I have bought many Microsoft games and barely recieved a single fault. I go to play both of my paradox games I own and one is crashing randomly as well as the other fault mentioned above and the other has a bizarre message that comes up every ten seconds about network latency. I think the facts in this case speak for themselves.

If Paradox were so concerned about proper development and the customers, why haven't I recieved a message yet which explains this problem and it's solution? Why am I sitting here waiting for a response? Would this take place in Microsoft if a problem had been reported?

Oh, and it's only on multiplayer that it crashes.

Do you have a firewall? or a router? if so i would recommend you turn off the firewall/allow all and if you have a router i think theres a thread aout that somewhere...

anyway
try playing on below normal speed and turn on autosave for every 5 months, that should help alittle...

This is a typical problem of Paradox games (regardless of what the mod says), until about patch 1.08 (which by then the next game is released...) in MP. I have played EU2, HOI, abnd now Vict, always MP (single player games are boring..) and they always have CTD issues early on, always, no exception...we are about to put a ban on paradox games becase of how long it takes to fix these (vicky is about to be banned till about 1.08 because it crashes everytime any of us annex, and if anyone is prussia then it crashes every 5-10 minutes AND then their is the slight problem of Valk/Internet not being able to reconnect for nearly an hour everytime...)

It is not as if either of the computers used are very slow, both being fairly new. So I don't think the problem is with the hardware. I also don't wish turn off the firewall, with the threat currently posed by the sasser worm.

Another question though, when playing a internet game, will I still be able to join a game even though I am running my computer through a network to the DSL line? I can remember having problems with this in Europa Universalis 2.

you need to forward the appropriate ports to your computer if you want to play paradox games over the net.

the ports can be found in the sticky at the top.
