The game has been crashing and having massive in game lag since 2023 of the Toxoids update that made the game literally unplayable for an entire year.
This latest update has remedied that in the early game but still hasn't reached the levels of optimization since pre-toxoids update of 2023, especially for the mid to later game. Whilst the early game runs smooth, generally after 2275 is where you start to see slowdown, even in a solo save with just A.I.
After 2300 crashes begin to come, system chugging, fps drops, and overall game lag become very noticable and hamper in-game playability. No player is expecting the game to run the same speed as year 2200 for 600 years. But it's impossible for console players to enjoy any decently long term a.i packed galaxy with the current poor optimization.
Developers, will you please make it a top priority to massively improve optimization for this game? Console players cant enjoy it with how rough it becomes throughout the course of the game. A smooth experience with fair slowdown over long stretches of time is all we are asking.
I am playing the game on an Xbox series X with every DLC installed. And have cleared out my empire data, removed old game saves, and un-installed+reinstalled to make sure there were no other outliers to be causing these issues yet they still persist. The game needs optimization. Please focus on it.
