Hi,

After a couple of hours of in-game, maybe 3-4, even if i'm not playing, the game would start stuttering a lot and performance becomes very bad.
Dragging the map would stutter and time in game passes very slowly.

Restarting the game fixes the issue bit it starts again after a couple more hours.

This is NOT the issue of the game lagging at late game-dates. My game runs fine even in 1800, but even 1444 would lag if I kept the game open for 4-5 hours.
I've had this issue for many patches and I can't seem to find any post about it, as all lead to game-date related lag rather than just having the game openened.

Is this just a general engine issue or is it something on my end?

PC Specs: 12600K, RTX 4090, 32GB Ram, Windows 11 Latest.
Game specs: 1.36.0 All DLCs, NO mods.

Right click on eu4.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Edit that settings.txt to say:

refreshRate=60
fullScreen=yes
borderless=no

vsync=no

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode.

Does that help? If not, Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 30 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
