Game lags inexplicably

I'm not sure why, but I have a lot of lag playing CK on single player. I don't know much about computer hardware and such, but I meet all the reccomended system requirements and still lag. I've never had this problem with any other Paradox game (I own EU, EU2, HOI and HOI2 in addition to CK).

I believe it got worse when I started using the June 3rd beta. Any suggestions?

I dont have the later period games, but compared to EU, the game files of CK are enormous. If you're at or just over the advertised minimums, you may not have enough memory to keep up. I have 512mb and as the game gets into the later stages, it really slows down. So check the amt of RAM you have and if it's 256, spend the extra $30-60 and upgrade (it'll make your life better, not just CK ). If you've got 512 or more, then I dont know.

Check out jpd's FAQ on the subject in the Victoria tech support forum. I t applies to CK equally as well.

Plus the min requirements are for vanilla 1.0 game, as features get added requiremnts go up.

Thanks for the help. The lag lessened tremendously once the HRE, which had conquered France and was fighting the entire Arab world, made peace. I guess there was simply too much going on at once.
