I agree whatever the problem is, is only affecting this game so far as we know. That doesn't mean it has to be the game's fault though! Obviously if this was a game bu everyone would be getting it; there must be something unique in this computer/Windows setup that triggers the problem. Usually I can spot a likely candidate, but no luck so far here.

I see we haven't done a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Imperator
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Imperator AND Documents/Paradox/Imperator folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add imperator.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Imperator or Documents Imperator locations, before installing again.

If that still doesn't help, please attach here all files in the /logs/ folder that are over 0 bytes, thanks.

I wish I could say that it is working now, but sadly still same result :(

In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. Click on Set Launch Options, and paste this in there:
-opengl

Is that any different?

Hi,

It didn´t work neither.

As a matter of fact, I was just having a similar issue with another game since yesterday, but its the opposite: if I launch this other game in fullscreen it works perfectly, but if I launch it in windowed mode or borderless it won´t show any image but I cant still hear the game running in the background!!!

Of course I can´t find the solution neither, I came to 2 new sources of the issue, first I thought that maybe it was because of my screen since Im playing on a laptop conected to an external screen. Im not using my laptop screen so I configured windows to only show image in the external monitor. So I tried disconecting the external monitor and using only the laptop one aaaand... still the same issue....

Then second I thought that maybe the issue is coming from the XBOX game bar that comer with Windows 10, so I deactivated it completely and gues what... still the same issue....

I really dont know where is the issue anymore and Im really losing my mind!

I think it's pretty clear now you have a hardware fault in this machine, OR the new Windows installation did not go well.

Was the Windows reinstall a Reset or clean wipe and install? Either way, I recommend the latter course.

Good luck with that!

I finally fixed it. The issue were the Integrated Graphic Card drivers. I simply uninstalled them completely and now everything seems to be working. Im not even going to update hem, Im afraid it´s going to break down everything again.

Little update on above, the issue is that the latest integrated graphics drivers of my laptop (ACER VX15 591g) are corrupted by default somehow and they are installed automatically by Nvidia geforce experience. In order to fix this issue you have to installed manually this version of the drivers (an older one).
