I was playing my current playthrough just fine for about 80 years, then all of the sudden, I keep getting constant freezes in the game. There doesn't seem to be anything triggering them that I can tell, the game just simply stops, and nothing short of task manager will save it. I'm patched up to the latest beta patch, the problem also happened without it. I've tried reinstalling twice, and the same problem persists. This is a dump of the logs/errors.txt file:

Obviously, the game is trying to call files that don't exist (why they don't exist, or why it didn't happen in the decades of playtime before this, I don't know). Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Edit: Nevermind, deleting all reference to barbarians in the save file seem to have done the trick.

I have exactly the same problem but it occurs far more frequently for me, every couple of years or so. How exactly did you solve the problem? The game is pretty much unplayable for me.
 
Did you try rescuing your save files, uninstalling the game and doing fresh install ?
What OS do you have, what version of the game you have ?

Also: are you playing any mods ? Does this happen with continued save game or does the same thing happen when you start new fresh game ?

It happened with 2.3.2 and with the current beta (YRDK). I've reinstalled the game twice so far. The OS is Windows 7 64-bit, all other Clausewitz games run perfectly. It happens irregularly every dozen years or so, also for fresh games.

Also thank you for taking an interest.

I've attached a savegame that crashes immediately when I click on "free government position" (at other times it crashed while i was doing nothing in particular). Please let me know whether the same happens with your setup.

Btw, it's 2.36b the version you have. I actually didn't have any experience with the latest beta before this and i think the 2.35b was bit more stable. I noticed another crash bug with republics (also government screen) but it seems that monarchies are even worse. Tough luck.

I personally would recommend reverting to either official 2.32 or 2.35b (previous beta) patch for now until Paradox fixes the latest issues with this one.
 
I have the same problem as OP..fresh install of Rome: Gold (patch 2.32c) from steam about every 20 years or so..I have autosave, so I can just start back almost where I had been, but around 20 years later same thing happens. My log looks exactly the same as well.

Even erasing the cache mentioned in one of the other threads is a no go.

Also, I ran the verifing files on steam the very first time it happened, before DOING anything else..cache erase ect..and it already had to fix 7 files.
Just ran the verify again and 7 files again.

Edit 1: Attempting various compatibilty modes now.
Edit 2: same thing..in the system log...I noticed that it only shows 1024mb of system memory...is there a way to allow the game to use more memory?
