Game locks up

I just bought this game 2weeks ago and it runs great for anywhere from 15-45 minutes then locks up when I transition from into or out of a port it just does not finish moving from one page to the other any suggestions why this might be occuring? Some help would be appreciated.

Do you use 3D port option? Do you have any lock-ups outside of the game suggesting it might be hardware overheating or memory damage?
