So, i've been having an issue since 2-3 days ago where my game freezes every 10-20 minutes and on occasion as early as 2-3 minutes after loading (the game used to run fine i shoiuld add), My specs are all correct and above recommended (Specs:GTX970, i7-3770, 16GB RAM) my NVIDIA drivers were updated 2 days ago, i have tried repairing the game through windows, switching its hard drive and reinstalling, I have tried deleting documents>Paradox>Crusader Kings III and allowing the game to rebuild its documents, no luck there either, I'm on Game Pass version and i am quite dissappointed by this considering this was my favorite game of all time up until this flop

If you disable autosaves as a test, does that help the problem?

I don't know then, that definitely helped others with similar issues.

You've basically already tried everything I would normally suggest!

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

Should all be there, i got some issues when running dxdiag but i just told them to use it anyway, these should be all requested files, i aprreciate your help
Edit: i forgot to say this is a fresh install i've only played once or twice

I assume the game is installed on C: not that external D: drive?

That aside I see nothing in those files to explain why this is happening to you, I'm sorry!

That is super unfortunate, i understand that this game is new and has issues that need to be investigated, but this may just be unfixable, and no, its installed on my D: but it was previously on my C: drive when the issue started happening it was still on C: and then i switched hard drives and reinstalled

It is extremely bad I have to agree! There must be somethign different on this computer that triggers this behaviour by the game, but I'm just not seeing it.

Pretty much every other case I've seen has been connected with doing autosaves.

I would suggest it be on C: though, if as I think D: is an external drive. That really makes no difference at all?

What CPU and GPU temperatures do you see in the main game menu, then when this problem starts happening?

I can't update you right now, I'm currently redownloading the game, back on C: drive to see if that fixes it although I can't see any reason why it would, I'll update you when I have it redownloaded, I do remember though, nothing spiked from what I could see in the performance tab in task manager, except WiFi, but that shouldn't affect anything, I've also already made sure to force it through firewall for windows so that isn't it and even if it was it should've just affected online games.

In menu: 40c CPU average, 40-50c GPU average

When the game freezes: they drop from 56-60c CPU and 75c GPU average to orgiginal menu values so, it is not hardware temp anyway as my GPU can comfortably hold 80c and a little more and my CPU is only 15c higher than Idle values

Actually 80c is where the computer will start to throttle its own speed to prevent hardware damage. I suspect that is in fact your problem.

Clean out all air vents it has (compressed air cans are good for this). Make sure airflow to them is not blocked by anything like walls, books or whatever.
If that doesn't drop the temps enough, you probably have a faulty fan or a heatsink/thermal paste problem. You may need professional help at that point.

I have the same problem as you. every 10-20 minutes the game stops responding, but after 5 minutes I can continue the game.

Win 10, GTX 950, 16 GB Ram, Game installed on SSD HD. Everything is updated.

Not actually the case, for the GTX970 the temperature it seeks out is 80c and when it throttles to prevent damage is 105c, please look into it, its just because of our timezone difference it'll now be a whole day before i get another response

Right, i did the best i could do, which was put my fans so once my GPU temp hit 60c it went to max, my GPU never went above 70c the issue still happened

You can see all the things we've looked at and tried in this thread, and all the info we've asked for ... please go through all that. Thanks.

That is unfortunate, as overheating is usually fairly easy to fix. We don't really have any clue left why this is affecting you now.

What fps do you see in the game?

Can you try a few things like

* repair the game pass install
* delete the directory C:\Users(YOURUSERNAME)\AppData\Local\Packages\ParadoxInteractive.ProjectTitus_zfnrdv2de78ny\SystemAppData\wgs

Also the crashes seem to indicate ntdll is crashing, so I'd run a manual full windows update to be sure as well

I believe I've tried all of these, I did a manual check for windows updates 2 days ago, I'm not having issues with any applications other than ck3 either, I know I've done the first two fixes but idk if this is what you mean by the last one
