game problems

i have had the game a long time and had few crash probelsm.
however yesturday i tried a new igc as turkey and bout 15min in it crashed. so i tried again and again 15min in it crashed. so i re-installed tried again still. so i switched to france in the gc. fine till about 1513 then crashed un-installed again same thing. tried this morning hoping it would work. same problems. it cant be just these countries as i have plyed long games as them before. i have 1.09 patch and any ideas as to why its crashing like this would really help as i can no longer play the gc or igc. not sure bout the other scenarios.

First, there is now a patch 1.10, download it, it might solve your problem.

Two, while running a fresh install of EU, the game never crashed for me and when I installed the IGC, my game started to crash (however, many people using the regular GC had problems like yours).

Third, how much RAM do you have? I find 128mb to be ok for EU1 and it seems to reduce crashes in some cases (I can't confirm, but I've heard it)

Fourth, there is thread about uninstalling EU completely in the FAQ forum (Windows uninstall leaves some bits and pieces everywhere and it can create problems).

5th, once the IGC is installed, you can't play any of the other scenarios.


6th, make sure you have read this thread: http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13624

7th, try running it without music.

8th, if none of these works, come back here and we'll see if there is something to be done.

well i dont want to mess with the comp anymore. done that enough for other games so i just wait for eu2 to come out.
since civ3 and EE are almost out i be fine over the wait.

OK - EU2 is a whole heap better anyway.
It should run OK once it is out. Any problems then come back and visit us
