My version of Europa Universalis screws up 5 ways.

1) When I click the diplomacy button and do the shortcut command (right mouse clicking) to get a list of the different countries, the game screen shuts off on me. I'm returned to my desktop, but i can still hear the music of Europa Universalis.

2) This kind of has to do with number 1. But sometimes after playing the game for 4 or 5 hours straight, the game does the same thing. When I choose to annex or vassalize a country, the game screen goes back to my desktop. It gets me mad because i forget to save sometimes.

3) Game POINTS won't work. Everytime I complete a mission objective it says i've earned "so and so" game points. But it never appears in my current points screen. And it gets me mad further because it's not just that it's NOT appearing. It messes up my game. When I completed my first GC, it said i lose because i achieved no game points. And neither did the computer. But that's crap, because I got tons of game points!

4) When I have it on GC from 1492-1792, the game keeps going somtimes. I mean, to like 1840!!!!??? weird.

5) Sometimes the music makes this weird scratchy sound. And it makes this buzzy noise. I have to restart the game to make the music work properly again.

I don't think i have a bad version of the game, but then again I may. Or maybe I need to reinstall the game. Can anyone please help me?

1) Try instaling the latest patch (it's there for a reason =) ...

2) Same ansver as 1 + turn on autosave ...

3) TURN THEM ON before you start next time ... =)

4) People usually complain about the fact that you can't play beyond 1792 ...

5) Might be your soundcard drivers ?

Just to make Point 3 clearer:-
Before you start a game go to Options. Then turn on "Base Victory Points".

You cannot do this after you have started a game - you will have to restart.

Also go have a look at the links in Huszics post - well worth a good read!
