What it says on the title. No matter what I do, the game just will not launch. First time running on a new computer. Here's what I've attempted so far:

  • Verify Game Cache
  • Run in Borderless Windowed/Windowed
  • (Re)Install DirectX for both x64 and x86
  • Restart Steam
  • Restart PC
  • Reinstall Stellaris
  • Create Anti-Virus Exception
  • Create Firewall Exception
  • Deleted Mods
  • Deleted \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris
None of those have worked. Attached is the latest error.log, system.log, and DxDiag.txt. Any help is much appreciated.

I see several LiveKernelEvent entries in that dxdiag, which happen when the computer is forced down or rebooted. Have you seen those, are they related to this game or something else?

When you did your clean reinstall, did you make sure there are no files or folders left under the Steam Stellaris folder, before installing again?

Did the VC++ updates you ran include the very latest ones here?

Tried cutting up into individual quotes/responses, but the forums said it was too spammy. Hope this works!

Reboots were either for Visual Studio installs, or unrelated.

Yup, the Steam one, and the Documents.

It did, I made sure to do the x64 and x86 of each one.

Let me know if you need anything else!

We're only seeing this in combined Intel/nVidia video setups, with recent nVidia drivers, so we're pretty sure the problem is in that area.

Let's try a clean reinstall of nVidia:

- uninstall their driver and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the latest by fresh download from here:
- reboot again

Good luck with that!
