Now, I figure the odds are that this is hardcoaded, however since I have noticed it was possible to do this in some other games...why not ask?

Is it possible for CORE (or even perhaps just your average person) to change the speed of the game? Extremely fast just isn't cutting it for me on single player and I'd wager it's the same for others.

Regards,

Nope. It's a calculations issue. This program is doing a lot more calculations than HoI1 ever did. We have no control over that.

Research 'game speed' or 'slow speed' or stuff like that from the Search page for more info. It all will basically tell you the same, however.

Fair enough...seems like Victoria had more calculation (could be wrong, I suppose) but it still went faster than this.

Thanks anyways,

Well yes and no.

Victoria is actually quite a bit slower on a turn by turn basis, but HOI2 Has many many more turns per grand campaign. Remember that HOI1/2 run on Hourly clocks, nto daily ones. Here's the math

HOI2 goes from 1936 through the end of 1947
that's 12 years
12 years * 360 HOI days a year * 24 hours a day =
103,680 "turns" per grand campaign

Vicky is 1836-1920
that's 85 years, seems like more but Vicky turns are a full day
85 years * 360 HOI days a year =
30,600 "turns" per grand campaign

All other factors being equal, (which they are not, but Vicky's not that much slower a turn) HOI2 games should take about 3 times as long as a Vicky game.

Kinda puts thing in perspective!

My HOI2 was going very slow even on the extremely fast speed but I just defraged my drive and now its definitley going extremely fast so maybe you should try defragging. It goes much faster than HOI 1 for me now

Just note. If the defrag did so much good, the game uses virtual memory extensively. Thus upgrading your RAM should improve the speed even more.
