My game is patched and my system is currently and can handle the game.

I've always had a problem with crashing after a few saves. Now the game is suddenly crashing in the middle of missions. Is anyone else having this problem and have you fixed it?

There are a ton of crash fixes in the Tech Support part of this forum at the top (you'll need to register your game to even see it). Have you tried those yet?

Edit: Well, now the forums have changed and I don't see the other sections any longer. No idea where to go to see those at this point.

Edit 2: Seems it was a problem with my old bookmark. I can see the other sections of the forum now.

I bought the game as a download from GameTap and can't find the serial number, so I can't register. I've asked GameTap and Paradox for help and received no replies. Do you know anything about this?

I'm not familiar with GameTap unfortunately. Paradox is very slow to respond to help here, but don't give up. I'll look through the tech support stuff and paste some of it here for you.

Looks like there is/was a problem with saving and with the autosaves. Here are some of the suggestions on that:

"you have met the dreaded "too many saves" bug. Try removing all the saves from your save directory (by moving them elsewhere if you want) and see if it helps."

"Too many saves, and also, TOO LONG FILENAME, majesty 2 doesn't like that either. "

"Oh, and also, don't put special chars in there. Keep to standard latin ascii, in the letters and digits. Anything else can go boom"

From Guymaru: "I bought Majesty 2 to in the retail box. After getting CTDs on a completely standard, up-to-date, WHQL system I tried to buy it on Steam, thinking my CD was faulty. Same CTD. My game wasn't even getting to the point of generating an auto-profile.

First symptom: movies with no images.

I tried EVERYTHING suggested in this forum. Nothing worked.

Turned out to be the intro videos.

I had to hit the Esc key and click my mouse THROUGH the invisible movies so they'd cancel. It took several attempts. Finally I got PAST the movies and into the game. I went into options and (as suggested elsewhere) disabled intro movies. Now the game runs fine.

Go figure."

From Kallocain: "Crashes? Read this.
* Run windowed mode.

*Switch from high video details down to medium or lower video details.

* Lowered the game resolution to you native resolution or lower. Native Resolution will be either what you have in windows, or, if you changed that, you can look at the monitor manufacturer home page to find it

* Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers, either from ATI/nvidias websites, or from your laptop maker if it requires special drivers. Windows update doesn't always get you the latest versions.

ATI: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
NVidia: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
Intel: http://www.inteldriverscenter.com/

* In Vista, try running the game as administrator. The exe, NOT the launcher.

* If you are still experiencing problems on Vista, try to run the game in XP compability mode.
Check this link to lead how to set vista in compatibility mode: http://help.unc.edu/6037

* For freezes and choppy gameplay, try to shut any resident program in the background. Continous scanning by antivirus software can cause crashes.

* Run Checkdisk and defrag your harddrive, even if you have Vista.

* If you get the side-by side error on launch, you need to install these (x84): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
or these (x64):http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...4-b9a6d7bd44da

Everyone with crashes, please install the latest version of the visual C++ redistributable. They can be found here:

For Windows x86:

For Windows x64:
