Game suddenly started to freeze every couple of minutes

Description​

I have run into a problem where my game starts to freeze every couple of minutes. I am fairly advanced in my run and didn't encounter any such problems during the early to mid game. I already got in touch with support and implemented the proposed solutions, such as updating my GPU- and CPU-Drivers or using Windows Repair, but none of those worked.

They did, however, find the following script error:

[triggerimplementation.cpp:27211]: Script error! Script Object Token: "economic_ideas", Error: Trigger condition set on the wrong scope: Scope.GetCountryTag().IsValid()

And since they lack the necessary tools to further investigate, I was advised to post this issue here.

This bug happens when the AI tries to determine peace deals in big colonial wars. In your case it is the independence war of Caraibas against Portugal with all of Portuguese CNs and Spain which has even more CNs is on Caraibas side. But the war has already lasted 5 years and Caraibas as 79% warscore, so it will probably be over soon
