Few mins after playing, the visuals freeze even though my mouse keeps moving makes interactions and you get the sound and the game continues.. I jsut can't see it except for mouse movement. Anyone had a fix to this?

Where did you download the new patch? I have a Steam copy and can’t see anything.

I didn’t have it but maybe that’s because I reinstalled it.

I'm having the same issue playing the tutorial. For me the mouse doesn't show either, visuals freeze but I can hear sounds.

Edit: FWIW I updated my graphics card driver and haven't had this issue since. I've only played a bit over an hour though so this may be a red herring.
Edit 2: Happened again today after starting a new game. It may be related to the November crash that was reported in this thread? https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/freezing-november-450.1170396/
Edit 3: Tried the workaround provided for the November freeze. It's still freezing for me unfortunately. It seems to happen less frequently when starting the game for the first time and much more frequently after the crash happened for the first time.

I'm Having the same issue, few minutes into the tutorial and the image freezes; I can tell the game is still running because the mouse still moves and the various interaction sounds pop. I try to brush off the problem by alt+tabing out of it and going back to the game but then the image freezes with my desktop image.
I have the game fully updated as well as driver version and OS version.

Same problem here - it seems to be rather tempramental, as occasionally it will run perfectly fine for a couple of minutes with no lag or other issues, and then it will suddenly freeze. Other times only a few seconds will pass before the freeze occurs. Looking at my task manager as the game is running, it doesn't seem to be maxing out my CPU, GPU or Memory - so I'm not quite sure where the issue lies.

I've checked the logs after the crash and nothing is being logged in any of the logs close to when the crash happens (aside from this in debug.log which is me killing the game: [13:25:57][application.cpp:440]: Quit: Quit event from os).

Ok I´ve just checked my error logs and this is what I get whenever my game freezes. I have no idea why it mentions an incorrect checksum for DLC, I`ve tried with both DLCs enabled and disabled and it doesn´t seem to be a factor.

[15:25:38][dlc.cpp:1116]: incorrect checksum for DLC
[15:27:54][pdx_gui_factory.h:425]: Malformed property widget , property widgets can only contain a single child and no properties - gui/select_tactic.gui:47
[15:28:11][gfx_dx11_master_context.cpp:479]: Failed creating pixel buffer
[15:28:13][gfx_dx11_master_context.cpp:426]: Failed creating constant buffer

Had this issue myself, what's strange is that if i play as observer. I can just let the game play on for several years without any issues.

However when i then left that game and tried to start a new one, just by clicking back and forth between a couple of nations froze my screen.

Other than that it's a bit random, can work for a couple of months and freeze for no apparent reason.

Can freeze when map is loaded and you are about to click the starting popup.

Can freeze when you try to adjust your government.

Pretty weird considering I played 8 hours when the game came out. However i did have some crashing issues the first 2 hours.

Made a ticket and got told to update Windows 10 and adjust my dedicated video ram, which i've been trying desperately to change only to fail miserably.

I've pretty much given up now, and are just waiting for a update. Might use observer mode and watch the game once in a while, but i'm all out of ideas for how to actually play a nation.

SOLVED, this is kind of crazy, i saw someone commenting on a different forum how when he decreased the graphic their game would freeze. So i changed the graphics to Medium or whatever, and now it works.... O_O

You have unsupported hardware, an Intel 520 video system. I can't promise that's the cause of the freeze but it doesn't look good!

I kinda expected that at first with freezes in the first 2 hours after launch, but then i had 8 hours of Phrygia gameplay.
First on friday i had no chance whatsoever, I'm considering that the hotfix that came out 4 hours after launch (to fix some stuttering) might have increase the workload and therefore made it freeze more easily. But then again, i'm grasphing at straws, i expect to buy a new computer within the next two months.

But man it's so annoying to be able to observer the game (for several years), but when i tag into a nation the game freezes and crashes.

I'm seeing the same issue running on a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti. DxDiag attached. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to provide more data (e.g. is there a console command to increase the log level?). Thanks!
