Game will not install

Hi everybody, I just received the game from Amazon today (Gold Edition) and when I go on to install it, it does not finish installation. The bar fills up and then, at the end, there is a message:

Rome is not installed.

Vae Victis is not installed.

I tried installing in different directories but to no avail. I have attached screenshots of the [error] messages.

Hope someone can help me out. Thank you.

What OS are you running? Do you have the required system requirements? Where are you installing it, what directory?

This person had the same issue and also had it from Amazon as a download - he found no fix other than buying it from elsewhere. Can you make it clear if you have a downloaded version from Amazon, or have just bought a boxed version from them?

I bought a boxed version from Amazon and my OS is Windows Vista. I do have the required system requirements and I did installed it in the program files/ paradox interactive directory.

OK, try a complete reinstall. Uninstall the game, and then manually delete the game directory - this is important. Reinstall Rome:Gold - choose a new directory like c:\games\rome instead of the suggested path. Download the 2.32c patch, and run it to install it; make 100% sure you point it to that same new directory above so that for instance the new rome.exe overwites the old one, the new romegame.exe overwrites the old one, and so on. Once done right-click on the game's desktop icon and set it to run as administrator, and to disable desktop composition.
