I haven't see other such reports on the Remastered edition yet, interesting. This is my go-to process for any such issues on console though!

- uninstall the game from the XBox

- clear the XBox cache and game files (save game data)

- install the game again

- test BEFORE restoring any saved games

Thanks for the tip! I followed & still unsuccessful. the game plays fine when locked to 9 tiles; when expanded to 25 is when I encounter the save error.

Might be a long shot, but is it occurring on all maps, maps from a certain DLC, or on 1 particular map?

Hello, sorry for late response. I started a new game & ran into the same save issue when i crossed over 16mb with 25 tiles. The maps were Diamond Coast & Two Rivers from general selection, non dlc.

I found a solution to the problem. I turned off auto-save and manually saved it and it worked (worked for me at least)

thanks for the tip! I still can’t save, but I’m glad that work around was successful for you. Hopefully we get a patch for this issue soon.

What would be helpful would be the following

• Were any cheats used such as Unlock all, or 25 tiles?
• Was Quick resume enabled? (specifically this one)
• Was it a base game map or a custom one?
• Which console are you playing on?
• Save game size

thank you for looking into this. I’ve encountered the save error on two cities.


-cheats: 25 tiles, unlimited money, unlimited oil & ore, unlimited soil. (Both cities).
-quick resume enabled. (Both cities).
-base map. Diamond coast (1st) & Two Rivers (2nd).
-Xbox series x (both games).
-1st game: 16.35mb. 2nd game: 16.04mb.

Same problem at me. Unlock 25 tiles, base map, Xbox cloud on Xbox one X. I can save until reach 16.23mb. Now I see error message.

This has been a problem since the release of the remastered version.

they ask questions but have given 0 updates, 0 announcements, don’t even acknowledge the issue. In fact they appear to be focusing on PC for the most part(it is their cash cow for this game) while us console players have been left to dry.

if this is how it’s going to be I think a lot of us are going to be VERY hesitant to buy CS2 as it will likely have the same issue and you’ll spend 60 or whatever bucks on a broken game they aren’t going to fix.

tried being patient but am beyond frustrated. Literally went out and got the series x partly for this remastered version. Had to buy a new mic too. So now 700+ in the hole all over a game I CANT EVEN PLAY.

All things said I love CS but for fucks sake what are these devs doing ??? Not even a hey sorry console but we don’t care ???

1. Yes I am connected to the internet and have XBOX live connection. I wouldn’t be able to play other games online if I didn’t…

2. storage space has been explained above. Only 16MB out of a very empty drive is used. I literally can’t get far enough to have max storage….

3 in game updates is what we’re begging them to do so this is resolved. Though I check frequently.

4. are you serious ? Power cycle our Xbox? Believe me we’ve tried that.

like I can’t not be a dick at this point. It’s been months, they’re blatantly avoiding any interaction with this problem and are rolling out other updates for everyone else.

I might have to try civilization 6 or tropico cuz if there’s a game breaking glitch in CS2 I have very little faith the devs will fix it and I’ll just throw more money

Was this anymore helpful than the others you speak of? Also it’s not “suddenly” it’s been, as mentioned, 2 months.

Hop off the high horse and realize people paid money for this game and are frustrated it’s been over 2 months and we haven’t even heard an update or that they’re working on it…. despite numerous updates for other platforms.

We can’t play AT ALL but thank god PCs rain sounds don’t lag anymore. God knows that’s more gamebreaking and important.

Don’t apologize, my fault completely! But I now see what you are referring to, I think.

I think these devs might of lost a lot of loyal console players with this move though. I definitely will wait after CS2 comes out in case it’s got game breaking bugs the devs just ignore.

You guys seem to have given up

the problem has been out since the remastered edition was released(going on 3ish months?) but we haven’t even gotten an update or apology….

A lot of people spent good money on this game, will we receive our money back for this defective product that we can’t even use? Will we receive free content on the next game since we spent money on a game we can’t play?

Are you playing on series s or x? It seems the error was fixed on X but not S, and I'm doubtful it ever will be. I have moved on and chalked it up to a loss.
