Well, my dearly beloved copy of HOI2 (for Mac, bought at the Appstore) seems to have terminally crashed.
I was in the process of invading (successfully) the US in mid-44 as Japan, but was shutting the game down for the moment, when what seemed like some kind of glitch in the closing process developed. Didn't think much of it, except when starting the game again, it displayed a window asking whether the game should "Restore windows", or not.
Regardless of which option now selected, the game now cuts out on opening, crashes, and I get a shedload of information about what's going wrong (rather esoteric to me), but beginning with:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000004091200
Seems irredeemably broken. Anything to be tried? Or it's now merely a matter of deleting it from the machine, and buying a fresh copy, if I want to keep mucking about with this trusty old musket of a game?
