Game & Windows Freezes - Have to hit power button

Hi,

I have installed DD and i have directx 9.0c together with a new Nvidia driver. (Geforce 6600)

I start the game, it freezes immediately (With a black screen)
Then with some ctrl+alt+del clicking and other stuff, i get the first video.
No chance for skipping (ESC has no reaction, nor does any other button or ctrl+alt+del)

Then, before loading second movie, the game freezes again. Freezing with a black screen.
Same process as before (ctrl+alt+del etc...) and the second movie starts.
No chance for skipping.

Upon finishing this movie, just before loading menu. Game freezes again. Now here, it stops. No chance for anything.

I find this extremely wierd that I cant enter taskmanager (You can see it, but not select or set focus on it. Like if the game was drawing attention all the time)

Try this first

1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Run a Virus check and a Adware/Spybot checker
6) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-4.

If this is not working, run dxdiag and save the test results and post contest of that file in this thread.

Ps. This must mean than bink video player is the problem?

Correct, bink player is the problem.

Yup. On some configurations the bink players seems to malfunction.
