Game won't even start under Win2k

After the Europa Universalis splash the game accesses the CD a couple of times and then just unloads. No messages at all. I guess it's the copy protection... *sigh*

650Mhz 256MB
English Win 2k SP 1

It would be fun to be able to play the game...

might it be the fact that you run w2k? I dont know but i reckon that thats the problem. also, try reinstall it to the default drive (Crogramsparadoxeu) this worked for me at least.

Win2k is not the problem. Do you have more than one CD reader installed on your system? If so, make sure that the EU CD is in the first of those (Alphabetically).

I only have one CD player so that shouldn't be the problem, and the game is installed in the default location.
If I try to start without the CD I get the 'Please insert correct CD' message.
If I start with the CD in the drive it the cd player makes some sound and then the game exits without any messages at all.
