I am on a Mac Mini M4, Sequoia 15.5, and after the recent 1.9 update I can't launch the game, with the following message popping in the Launcher:

An error occurred
he game appears to have crashed or terminated unexpectedly (exit code null). The issue may be solved by verifying the integrity of your game files and deactivating any mods. If you are using Windows, you may also need to install Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework.

I have validated the installed files, fully uninstalled the game and installed it again, updated the PDX Launcher, changed the computer time...

There are some similar questions in the forum and reddit with some suggestions, but aimed for Windows and not applicable on MacOS.

All MODS are disabled

Can anyone help me or have a suggestion for this?

That Null error means the launcher could not even try to start the game. What happens if you run Victoria3.app directly from Finder? That bypasses Steam and our launcher.

Thanks for your suggestion. Running Victoria.app through Finder does start the game! The only drawback is that without the Launcher I lose access to Mods management. But it works for now, thanks a lot.

It wasn't intended as a fix, just a diagnostic step.

Please delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/ folder. To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and paste in ~/Library/Application Support/ . Then run the game from the PLAY Button in Steam, to reinstall the launcher.

If that does not get the launcher running, we will need these files from that same folder:

Attach ALL .log files Found here ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/

Thanks again for the help. I have deleted the mentioned folder, it doesn't change the situation though. The Launcher runs however it doesn't launch the game with the error message from my #1 comment popping on.

Here attached are the logs.

I don't see any errors or problems in those launcher logs, so I think the issue is elsewhere.

Can we get the full text of the error in your screenshot please?

Thanks again for your help. After applying today's hotfix (Jun26) the problem persists. Here attached is the error_message I get when running from PDX Launcher.

I've seen that when SIP has been disabled on the Mac, is that the case here? If so please enable it to run our launcher.
