Game won't load after startup

I've completed a clean installation, verified game cache through Steam, run the game with no mods enabled, and run a directX diagnostics tool. I've referenced another thread to complete this process and upload the files needed to determine and diagnose a solution.

I'll note that the error file has nothing on it, so I cannot upload it.

From the dxdiag it looks like your only monitor is connected to the Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630, while Stellaris is trying to start using the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

My brain is smooth. How do I connect my monitor to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080?

EDIT: I looked it up like a normal person and I just moved my hdmi to my graphics card. didn't even know I put it in my motherboard.
