The .bat file thing only helps if the launcher doesn't run. As you see the launcher okay, that process cannot help you.

Please gather both these two informational files, and attach them here:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities Skylines\Cities Data\output_log.txt

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Andrew.

So here's the thing...just opened my computer after leaving it overnight and what do I see? Cities Skylines running! The weird thing is that as far as I was aware I had closed down the CIties.exe processes before going to bed?!?

Just played half an hour with the game appearing stable. The city saved fine and I've just successfully started the game again. So on the face of it the problem is resolved for now. Although I am still somewhat disconcerted that I don't know what caused the problem in the first place or what resolved it.

I'll still attach the requested logs in case they shed any light on what was going on.

Your Nvidia driver is from 2021, so you should update that to April 2025

You are fairly low on available memory, exit every other app you can before starting the game.

And we see some bluescreens in that dxdiag; these are always Windows, driver or hardware problems. Have you seen those happen, are they related to this game or something else?
