Game won't load past splash screen

Hiya, whenever I launch CK2 from the launcher it displays the Paradox logo and music as normal but doesn't progress past that image. The music plays on an infinite loop and after leaving it to its own devices for around 4 hours the graphic was still there and the music was heavily distorted and laggy.

I've already set framerate=60, fullscreen=on, reinstalled and verified game cache. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It seems that turning borderless mode off in my settings has fixed this

I had the same issue for both EU4 and CK2. Turning the borderless mode off for EU4 fixed the problem but how do you turn borderless mode off for CK2?? I don't see the option to do it on the launcher...

Open the file
Change to

    fullScreen=yes
    borderless=no

Aside, assuming you got an NVIDIA card, check the settings for the game in your Geforce experience program.
