Description​

I have already done the following:
Disabled all mods and workshop items
Validated files
Allowed exception to .exe file in windows defender
Downloaded an alternative security defender (AVG) and allowed exception to .exe
Cried
Mods have run and same issue
Allowed all security functionality in application properties
Run as administrator
There's an UnauthorizedAccessException in logs but I have no idea how to resolve this now

I brought £35 of DLC a couple of days ago and haven't been able to enjoy it

UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Users\jonbg\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\continue_game.json" is denied.

You have a file system access problem, either an antivirus app is getting in the way or there's a problem in Windows.

Make sure cities.exe is in all the exceptions lists of any AV apps you have.

If that doesn't help, make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that, try the game there.

I already did the first and it didn't work - I can try the second

When switching profiles it worked, but I really don't want to play in another profile - any ideas on how to fix on my own profile?

I checked security permissions on the folders and specific files associated, and I do have account permissions so ultra confused now

EDIT: I gave my user account full access at the user account level and still having a problem. It has downstream permission sets as well already on my user account

I have also tried reinstalling the game

Then you may have a corrupted Windows user profile. But try renaming the C:\Users\jonbg\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\ folder to anything else then log into Windows as that user, the game should recreate the folder. Does that help?
