Game won't start after launcher update.

Running on Linux (Debian Bullseye) through flatpak, game will not start correctly. First attempt will run the launcher and then go no further returning to Steam when you press play. Further attempts just say game is running but it does not give any visible output. Checking via top, the launcher is running in the background and has to be sent a kill command to end it.

For me, this was resolved by either, a steam update last week (most likely as I thought at the time it read like a fix for this issue among others) or possibly moving to steam beta and installing proton for a different game - I doubt it would auto switch to steam-play/Proton but it may have done I guess.
