Hello, recently I've been having issues with CK2. I've read other forum posts, but they haven't worked or applied to me. The situation is as follows:
- Both games were working fine until perhaps the last two weeks. By this, I mean to say I had no issues with playing the most recent update when it came out.
- Started to blue screen (stopcode: VIDEO SCHEDULER INTERNAL ERROR)
- Then stopped opening altogether. This meant the box for the launcher would show up for a brief moment but wouldn't load before ultimately closing.
- After looking at other posts and tutorials, nothing has worked.
- I have a 64-bit Windows 10 system, so the issue isn't 32-bit being unsupported.
- I have tried running as administrator and using compatibility for Windows 7 & 8. No help.
- I have tried checking file integrity on Steam. All good apparently.
- MY NVidia dedicated graphics has fully updated drivers.
- Running on integrated graphics doesn't help
- Unchecking fullscreen optimization doesn't help
- Cannot find any settings.txt file
- Uninstalling then reinstalling didn't fix
- Gave Steam full permissions, no luck
- Resolution box is greyed out in properties, so I can't change it.
- Made an exemption in antivirus, no good.

I suspect it may be an issue with the launcher, as I had similar issues with EU4 which were solved by opening from the user files and thus skipping the launcher menu. Is there a way to open CK2 without the launcher? Is there a professional I could see to resolve this issue?

Bluescreens are almost always driver or hardware errors.

Similar in that it also caused bluescreens?

Note the new external EU4 launcher and existing in-game CK2 launcher are completely unrelated to each other. So I suspect your two problems are too. To test this
In your Steam Library right-click on this game and choose Properties. Click on Set Launch Options, and paste this in there:
-skiplauncher

Yeah, blue screens and the launchers were both crashing

Thanks, this helped get the game loading. Although now, unfortunately, it crashes once it finishes the opening loading screen

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

And do these bluescreens show in the Windows Event Viewer? There may be more info on the cause of them there.

Please update that nVidia driver:

What antivirus app do you use?
add ck2game.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

Card name: Citrix Indirect Display Adapter
FYI this app kills Unity based games, such as Cities Skylines and Battletech. No known issue with these games here, but its something we might try uninstalling later if nothing else helps.

- MY NVidia dedicated graphics has fully updated drivers.

The most recent driver (441.20) for the Geforce 940MX by Nvidia got released this friday. Not in 2017.
As it appears to me and as far as i can see by taking the above posted link.
Surprisingly on the Acer page i only found drivers from 2016 for that laptop.

Just my 2cents trying to assist, because AndrewT asked you to update it, while you said you updated it already.
