Ever since upgrading to macOS Catalina CK2 won't start. I just keep on getting the message "An error occurred while updating (unknown error)", and from my understanding the game should now be compatible to 64-bit, so i'm kind of confused as to why it still won't start.

I have searched the forum but i can't seem to find any thread telling me a solution or in case there is a thread with a solution i would appreciate a link to such a thread

Are you part of any beta branch of CK2? Opt out of it, let it patch, restart Steam, verify CK2 files and restart Steam again. Also clean Steam Cache. Maybe it still contains information somewhere that CK2 is 32bit?

You no longer need to use any beta, the public release 3.3.0 is 64bit.

And yet it still doesn't work.
With that same "unknown error"? Because that is specifically when running a 32bit app on the 64bit-only-OS (or vice versa in fact!).
