Garbage system not working properly

Hello

I have been looking online for days but have been unable to find anything like this issue.

I am playing city skylines on my PlayStation 5, I have several DLCs installed including green cities.

I had a population of around 150k, and my garbage system was working perfectly, however randomly the system has stopped working, with no changes, all my buildings will only accumulate garbage and the recycling centres are only sending out 1 or 2 trucks at a time.
I have over 20 recycling centres, the info view shows that I have bright green coverage on all roads and areas, I have increased my garbage budget to 150% of normal, however no garbage is being picked up.
My population has dropped to 129k due to this problem.

I have even tried building another 10 recycling centres on the streets I have the worst garbage issues but they just have the status of “not operating”.

I am unsure how to send a save file from PlayStation.

Below are some screenshots showing my problem.
I have followed some of the trucks that drive from the recycling centres and the truck will drive and collect garbage but with only 1 truck per recycling centre it isn’t enough, considering when I place additional centres, they are stuck at “not operating”.

Any help is appreciated

*Your most likely problem is traffic flow. What is your flow %.
* At 129k pop you may have hit vehicle limit. Are your tractor trailers complete? How about metro, trains and trams?
* If all garbage has failed you may have pathing issues. Most likely one way streets.
* Setting your budget high is not helpful. Try returning to 100%.
* Excessive amounts of processing facilities are not advisable. I would remove a few.
* Are your other Service's operating correctly?

My traffic flow is 76%, and the roads where the rubbish is accumulating are basically empty (the traffic comes from my 4 industrial areas and on highways, I have very low traffic in residential areas as I have bike lanes and high bike usage)

I think you are correct with the vehicle limit, my passenger trains are sometimes a single carriage and some tractor trailers are missing the trailers as you can see below.

Is this fixable?



I don’t have any one way streets apart from my highways which are not needed in my garbage system.

Thanks for the tip on the budget, have reduced it back to 100%.
I have removed all the additional garbage stations I installed.
My other services seem to be working, my crime is not a problem, healthcare is good, no bodies waiting pickup.

I found your post at a good time for me. I work the next couple of days. So I probably can not post for a few days. I'll check back though. So post how things go.
*Is vehicle limit fixable? Sometimes!
*Traffic flow % is key.
* Check your Mass Transit. 1 Bus with 30 capacity is 1 vehicle. 1 Super Bendy Bus is 3 vehicles moving as 1. A Bus line with 10 Super Bendy Buses actually had 30 Buses running. Check all Mass Transit with the same thought and adjust as necessary.
* A Bike is a vehicle. While nice/cute to have, get your cims on Mass Transit instead.
* Trains left to their own can be crazy. I limit Intercity trains connections so they can not go everywhere. Are they flowing or are they jammed too?
* Which DLC's do you have ? Extra content can be game changing. For example, what bus types you have and what the bus capacity is. I believe everyone has 60 seat double deck buses. A good choice to use. 75 seat Railroads of Japan buses have more capasity. 80 seat Articulated Buses are the best seat option for split buses at 40 per bus. Look at all your Transit and adjust as you see fit.
* Cargo Trains can be crazy too but are manageable too. How are they flowing?
* If you have Industries DLC. The traffic generated can be crazy but can be managed. It often settles down as it Industries level up. Let the game run.
* If you zone mass residential areas at once, traffic can be intense as cims move in, let the game run for a while to give it time settle down. And if you did zone mass areas, they level you via education and will cause a influx of new cims for a while when they do level up. Time can help. Let the game run.
* What areas are having traffic issues? Traffic flow % heat map shows red areas that you should scrutinize to see if you can improve your flow.
* I would suggest you focus and traffic for a while and stop expanding while you work on the issue.
* I check Imports/ Exports in the info views. You want the numbers as low as possible. What are your numbers?
Every city is different. I have improved one city at least 6 times as my skills improved. But eventually I stop expanding. I'm not a big decorator. Now is when I decorate with trees an other options to beautify the city and enjoy what I've created.
