Hi everybody. Sorry about the post in here but it wouldn't allow me to post stuff in the FAQ section for some reason. Whatever besides you guys will probably know all the answers. I've been readign some of the AARs and looking at pics of this game online and it looks cool. I just have a few questions. It appears as I can play as any country I want. Is this right? Secondly if I chose a country like say America or Canada, can I make them fight the other or am I forced to fight the Axis powers? How does the trading and stuff work too cause that looks complex. Anyways thanks for putting up with all the noob questions.

Hi Dovalman

1.) You can play as every country you want. But I would suppose filling up the majors first. For example in a 2on2 one should play as UK and UDSSR against GER and ITA or in a 3on3 UK, UDSSR and USA againts GER, ITA and JAP. But in principle you can play whoever you want.

2.)Theoretically, you can invade the USA as Canada or vice versa. But as you´re playing democratic countries you´ll not be able to attack other countries as long as their aggressiveness value is lower than the value detemined by your interventionism slider. Even if your sliders is at maximum interventionism, the country you´re about to attack has to have at least an aggressiveness of 1. You can increase another country´s aggressiveness by a smear campaign accomplished by your spies.

3.) Trading more or less works the same as in SinglePlayer. You´re offering something and your partner must decide if he/she wants to accept it.

Keep in mind that many MP groups do have many rules for their games. For exapmle when the USA are allowed to attack. So most of your questions might be answered if you want to join a group by reading their rules.

Have fun!

Interesting. Thanks for replying. This game seems even more interesting. So can I be another country and then join the Axis powers at all or would declaring war through some means on the Allies turn me Axis? If I do decide to get this game (gotta find it first) I'd probably spend a lot of time playing single player but how long are the MP games? I play Diplomacy right now and a game of that can take up to 3 hours or longer which is a long time. Thanks again.

Ya reading some of the posts by people I saw that you guys usually played about 1-2 times a week. Wow a few months to finish one game crazy. Now do you play 4-6 hours each time you sit down to play or is it like 2-3 hours per game over a few days a week? Reading all these posts definately gets my interest growing. Looking at pictures of the game doesn't exactly, not the best looking thing. Oh well DIplomacy is very underwhelming in the graphics too but I'm guessign the fun in this game is the diplomatic relastions and ass kicking too.

Ya same deal as in Diplomacy too. Anyways I was checking the requirements for the game and everything seemed to be except what is VRAM? Apparently I need 4MB of it. I have 512 MB DDR2 (dual-support channel) so is that good enough? I'd rather not have my laptop ripped apart since I use that for everything at university. Although I do have the requirements for the first one I doubt that anyone still plays it.

Good uh then I'm gonna post my data here and maybe the moderator or some other tech savy perosn could see if I have what is required to play the game.

Thanks everyone. You've been really helpful. I can't wait to play if everyone is this friendly.

Ya I downloaded the demo and it worked fine except that I kept getting beaten. No tuturial on there which makes the game super hard except those like things at the beginning which I forget in two seconds. Ah maybe if I figure out what I'm doing, I'll get the game but right now I'll just stay lost in the chaos.

Alright now that I'm getting the hang of this I think I'm gonna buy it. The question is that will I need to buy the expansion as well. Do many people play without it or is this entire forum based on the people that don't use the expansion pack? Your feedback from everything has been greatly appreciated.
