For a long time I've been playing around with an idea of generic tech tree. The DH technology tree is great as it is, but only for games with historical or mostly historical World War II--for example, the system how separate tank units are invented fits very well to the way how historically only Germans and Soviets really had realised how tanks should be used (and even Soviets temporarily 'forgotten' these doctrines due to Stalin's purges). Another 'problem' is the linearity of traditional HoI2 tech trees. Instead of being actual tree in which different technologies open different research paths, player simply unlocks never models trough research.
Thus I have decided to try making a generic tech tree myself. It would be great if some alternative history and fantasy mods would like to implement it. But I need your help! I can do the programming myself, but I need ideas, and that's how you can help me. Of course, if you have modding skills, you are welcome to help me with those, too. If someone would like to help me with unit model stats, it would be great. But first I need a technology tree, and that's what I'll make first.

Some principles I will follow:
- Instead of linear branches, it will be a real tech tree.
- There will be branches not covered in DH, such as society, economics, etc.
- I've been thinking, that alongside with percentual bonuses ('IC efficiency +2%') also plain extra offmap IC and money in order to make the game more balanced (percentual bonuses strongly favour major powers)
- As there's no need for historical accuracy, the tree can be made as balanced as possible
- Tanks will not be able until mid-game, so you have to build cavalry and motorised units
- Wild idea: tank division could be completely erased. Instead, there could be a tank brigade which would upgrade any unit to a tank division. I.e., infantry division with tank upgrade would be similar to French armoured divisions in 1940, while motorised division with tank upgrade would be similar to German armoured division
