Whereupon in the year of our Lord one-thousand four-hundred and seventeen, in the first year of the reign of King János, the King did bid the Gesta Hungarorum be moved from it's place in the Royal Library of Pozsony to the Budai Egyetem (University of Buda). Pozsony, beset by plague still, would no longer hold the Gesta Hungarorum, whereby henceforth the University of Buda would be charged with it's keeping and the recording of the history of the Kingdom.

And with that....the first section of the Gesta Hungarorum is over. Now some may recall I promised to upload my CK savegame so someone could play on if they wanted to, but that was before I found out the savegame was 102 mb :wacko:

Anyways, since that won't be working with my volatile internet connection, I will be able to upload the 3mb EU2 converted savegame file, and then later on, my edited EU2 game file (will actually be making that a scenario).

Now, I'm going to go back and update the table of contents, and with that, the AAR is done. Thanks to everyone who followed along, hope to see some of you in EU2.
 
Last years of your reign weren't very eventful. In EU2 you don't have big threat at the beginning, because Europe is so splintered. Biggest threat are propably the Turks who seem to have rather large empire. BTW remember to copy AI files from EU2 scenario file to your converted game (if you are using CKs converter instead of fan made), because otherwise AI won't act personally and England and other historical colonial powers won't colonize.

Olaus Petrus: Nope, not very eventful, it took a while to recover from the plague, and by the time the Kingdom had recovered, there wasn't much time left. Oh, the EU2 savegame conversion was interesting. I used King of Men's converter, and it broke my big Kingdom up into about ten-fifteen pieces :)

The table of contents has been updated and there's a link to the next section in just below it. Thanks again to everyone who read and commented.
 
Unfortunately, I have only been able to skim this one now and then. Hopefully I will do better in the sequel.
 
The converter will splinter you for sure. Looking forward to the EU version, jsut make sure it's a little harder for yourself.
 
Ehrm, kind of late to be replying, but I just found my way back here now.

stnylan: Well, you kept up pretty well for the first half of this one but I'm glad to see you've found your way to the EU2 section too.

RGB: The EU2 version was the same as this game for the most part, but it had it's close shaves too.

Tallincourt: Glad you liked it, and yes, I've fixed the Roman numerals....
 
Well, if anyone is still interested, I edited the prologue a bit to fill in some blanks about what happened before 1066 AD. A combination of fact and mythology, I think it does a good job of explaining just how the Hungarians got to where they did in Europe.
 
I re-read the prologue now that it is updated. It's well written and interesting. Personally I have always found Lehel -myth hilarious for it completely ignores the facts.
