Okay, I've had this problem for a couple of years now but I wasn't sure if it was the game or my computer but now I believe it's the game.
EDIT: To clarify, crusader kings 2 is the only game that I have that gives me a blue screen, maybe also "Europa Universalis 4" but I haven't played that game in a long time so I might be miss remembering it.

The game "Crusader Kings 2" runs perfectly, there is no problems but one, and it's a big one. When I'm playing it, it seems to randomly give me a blue screen. Not a crash, a pure blooded blue screen.

I have every expansion to the game and I've had the same problem with every single installment.

I have not experienced any other problem with the game.

I have no idea what might cause this but I'm writing here in hope that maybe you guys here have an answer as I don't believe a blue screen is healthy to the computer.

Thanks.

Bluescreens are always caused by hardware or driver problems. It can well be those problems can be triggered off by certain games or other apps, of course.

Next time you get one write down the message or take a photo of it, the text will help determine the area of the problem.

In the meantime DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Thank you for your help.

I've done the things you recommended but I'll edit this text if I see if the files were uploaded.
EDIT: I was able to upload the files but I don't fully understand it so there are 2 of the same DxDiag files, sorry.

Now I'm rather sure it's my computer that is doing something wrong when it's crashing just in that game and no other, but I have no idea what it can be so I hope I'll get some help here.

Also I haven't uploaded or written down the blue screen error as I've always panicked and shut down the computer before it fully shows. I will try and take a photo of it the next time and upload it here, if I can but I don't know when that will be.

Thanks again.

It's not caused by overheating, which is a shame as that's the easiest hardware problem to fix.

Unfortunately as this is Windows 7 the dxdiag does not include any details of the bluescreens (Win 10 does that). Do they get recorded in the Windows Event Viewer?

I've tried using that SpeedFan program over a longer time and when playing Crusader Kings 2 the maximum temperature I got was 59 degrees celsius.

And for the Event Viewer, I don't really know that much about it and all I found there was the following, maybe there is more but I need help finding it in that case:

Thank you for even more help.

All those say is the system was shut down unexpectedly, which we knew already. No clue as to the cause.

At this point I think you'll need to engage some professional Windows/hardware support.

But if you get another one do let us know exactly what the BSOD screen says.

Roger that. Should I just post it here when it happens or make a new topic as it can be a while before that happens?
Thank you for all the help anyways, sad that I couldn't get a fix for this but I understand that it can't be easy finding the problem itself.

Thanks.

Go ahead and post the BSOD info or photo here.

Good luck!
